Always soooo exciting when the eggs start to appear I have two pairs of Western Hog-noses and one of the girls has just started to lay So far I think that there are six eggs and one slug, did not want to disturb Mum too much. Will take photos when she has finished.

She has finished, a nice quick labour considering that she has laid 24 eggs That really is top of the range clutch size for a Western Hognose I am delighted and just hope that nothing goes wrong with incubation. What a laugh if the other female, who is of equal size also lays some eggs..... GULP As hatchling Hogs can be awkward to get feeding at first, my days will sure be busy.
If / when they do hatch I will post photos of the babies. They are so cute when they are tiny, with their little upturned noses and black and orange chequered tummies If anyone is looking for a Hoggie they are welcome to pm me, or to just watch this thread.

They look like lizard eggs !!
Very nice Sue, I LOVE hoggies they are so unique.
They sound quite stressy though but i would love one.
[I would have one of these over a corn any day] _________________ Regards, Paul.

Many thanks for kind comments Paul, Lynne and Johonny. Yes Hoggies are very special, but then ALL creatures are special in their own way aren't they ? Never understand people who do not care for / about animals |
