Hi guys, just wanted to show those that haven't seen it what a glow looks like. Its a very positive sign that the female will become gravid. Its argued that if they glow then they ovulate. There are actually 4 females here, all with follicles. The 2 on the left are the ones in glow. They almost look like Fires. The other 2 have huge follicles and the one on top is in slough. I'm guessing I missed ovulation and its a pre-lay shed, time will tell. Just hope this helps anyone that's Royal has had a drastic colour change after mating.

No, these were almost the same colour as the other 2 pictured. The colour change is very dramatic in some, others more subtle. The picture doesn't show it but they have a lovely sheen on them and quite literally GLOW. You open the tub one day and think someone switched your snakes Thanks for the well wishes folks.

Yeah, I have 8 normals that have had Fire males to them. The BEL is in with the Fire females and Pastel. Still very early days and all the females are first timers so not expecting anything too productive but early signs are good for all of them.

Looking very nice there I'd read about 'The Glow' always nice to see it
Sorry to hijack but quick question, have any of your females gone off food once they have started mating? My one female who normally strike feeds like a bucket hasn't eaten for the past 2 feeds, and doesn't seem very interested either And now the male is showing no interest in her either, he's retreated under the paper and she's mooching about all over the place _________________ www.draco2.co.uk

Almost all my females ate for the first 2 months then went off food. I just stopped all of them when I felt any follicles. As long as the female has good weight she should be OK but I would only offer her small feeds every 10 days or so even if you haven't cooled her. That should help get her started as well. I also switched some of mine to mice just to keep them feeding. I have some though that would be feeding while laying eggs I'm sure.
