|
|
I was just wondering what the average growth per month rate is for hatchling's. Sydney is an 07/07 and when he shed on Nov 1st the shed length was 14 1/4 inches. His last shed was exactly a month later (Dec 1 st) and was 17 1/4 inches. So exactly 3 inches of growth in 1 month.
I assuming this is a good growth amount? I was actually rather surprised by the amount of growth. |

hatchlings grow at a good rate, specially if the food is good. shedding about once a month is normal for the wee ones. _________________

Thanks Lynne.
I assume the times between sheds will gradually lengthen as he gets older, and the growth will slow as well. |

well, my oldercorns, who are around a year, still shed every 5-6 weeks. they wrom punkies to fuzzies, then from fuzzies to small mice etc. my wee ones are on pinkies, but 6 are ready to move up to fuzzies. the two tottie ones are on tiny punkies and i just put the bigger ones on to rat pups. and what a differance in growth rate.ill grow more when you move them f _________________

LOL
Think I got most of it. We all have days like that
Syd is still on 2 pinkies, think I will keep him at 2 a while longer as he is only 5 months old. I am just buying 10 at a time for now, so I can judge when he needs to move up to fuzzies easier. Found a local shop, just round the corner from my work that sells them, so that makes it a bit easier than ordering on line, and I can pick my own sizes too! |

if he is taking two with no problem, he could take a fuzzy. there is more nutrition in a fuzzy than pinkies. he spunds like he is doing well though, once you get him onto fuzzies you will notice the difference. _________________
