hi there guys, how are you all doing? this is my 1st post, always read never post.
i have a growing collection of royal morphs mainly male co-doms that would be ready for breeding next year.
i want to import some royals but dont know how to go about it. i e.mailed a couple of people but they wont talk to you unless you a v.a.t reg company,
i'm a private collector and want them just for myself not to re-sell.
i know the risks of importing and the views some people have, but i have the time to spend on them and already have 5 females w.c that are doing great.
can any one advise any more? or does any one know who i can import from?
many thanks. |

most of the larger breeders will export you snakes, however they wont deal with you unless its a decent sized order.if its just a snake or a couple of snakes it wouldnt be worth their while to go through the hassle.it can take months and months to sort out as well.mine took nearly 5 months from start to finish earlier this year _________________ www.jamieswordsreptiles.com |

If you go to Battens reptiles he is the UK distributor for Bob Clark snakes at really good prices too. His next shipment he's taking orders on is for March 08 if that's any help. I looked into importing some animals when I go over next March and to be honest found it easier and cheaper, even with me bringing them home on the same flight, to just go to the distributors with my order. _________________ Hognose

All down to price Pete!
Its obviously much more tempting to get something at 2/3 the price from a U.S breeder.

Importing from the states would cost more than it would to buy from a UK breeder. The time you pay for the snakes, shipping, agent fees and VAT etc you may as well buy UK bred stock.
Most the breeders in the states wont even consider shipping to the UK unless your spending 3k.
There is also plenty of people with quality stock here in the UK now - scott - darren etc. Why wait 3 to 5 months when you can have it tomorrow or better still in your xmas stocking! |

Why dont you try going to one of the European shows? There are often a few nice morphs available. _________________ Cheers Angi

what do you consider a big order? (my last order was 75 morph snakes)
All I would suggest is FIRST contact any of the quality UK importers / Breeders (Darren @ CPR or even me ) Give them the list of animals you want and see what price you can get. If you still think you would be better off importing, then make sure the breeder in the USA knows the amount you wish to spend _________________
