African pixie's (dwarf i believe) Pyxicephalus edulis. sorry should have said all this in the first post. They were only out for about a month since i got them, ate looaaaads of food then dissaperaed under the soil! Must have been there for a month or two now. Just wondering when i should be expecting them to resurface. _________________

The viv is room temp. having said that the temp will be higher than average room temp as they are in the rep room. Therefore temperature is 24C ish. Humidity is about 75% give or take 10% throughout the day. _________________

pyxies don't hibernate as such but do estivate during dry conditions after which ,when the rain arrives they breed but its doubtful they will breed in captivity. By the way 75 degrees its at the bottom end of their heat requirements although they can stand lower temps. |

ah! ok thanks rigsby, will sort out the heat issue. Also I'll give the tank a heavy misting, see what happens. I've taken a peek at them once or twice and tried hard not to disturb them. They seemed to have produced a protective layer of skin that completely covers them, looks pretty wierd. but totally normal no doubt. Anyway thanks for the advice guys, i'll just wait and see what happens.

As long as its cool and dry mate. If you raise the temps a little and mist real heavy they will come out _________________ Paul
