Went to a pet shop yesterday, just to have a nose around and see what stock they had in. I wasnt going to buy anything as my breeding group of Beardies take up alot of my time, but saw this little guy and fell in love.
I appoligise about the picture quality but my didgi cam is appalling.
It also completely washed out his colour as hes very terracotta.
Anyway heres a pic:

Good luck with him, they certainly are entertaining lizards to keep.
Paulv, which monitors did you buy? are Australian monitors easy to buy in S.Africa? _________________

I bought the V Acanthurus.
They are new here, I know of 3 other people keeping them and I have bought the first Captive bred specimens in the country. That should change in the next few years. |

Paulv, youve got some pretty ones there. The colours of mine are slightly different though, with terracotta running down the spine fading into red at the sides.
Dont you need a liecence to keep them is SA?
Scott W, They really are so entertaining to watch, you can read about their behavior and get a good idea as to what to expect but to see them going about their day is so amusing |
