Their name is cool aswell, would be a bit scared to live in the same house as one though |

Very nice geckos BUT not for the beginner as they need very precise conditions to survive. _________________ People laugh at me because I am different
I laugh at them because they are all the same. |

as Serpent say's they are available very occasionally but are extremely rare in collections, they are certainly not recommended for anyone that hasn't good experience with other delicate geckos. Also in my mind they should only be kept by anyone seriously interested in breeding them.
I have a feeling that there probably aren't enough of them in captivity to establish a viable population, so are becoming even rarer _________________

Couldnt agree more with this Scott
I get frustrated when people see a rare frog/geko what ever and say just get one for a pet.. since that 1 pet could be part of a breeding group to help get more quality animals into the hobby
Once question is how come I can find WC specimens on say kingsnake but cant ever find them here? same with mantella you see hundreds imported to the US but nothing comes here _________________ Paul

I think it's due to European CITES banning the import not CITES banning the export from Madagascar. So basically they can be shipped from Madagascar to almost anywhere but here
Flipping stupid, I thought CITES was a worldwide policy, not for the European commission to make up their own rules. I don't think commercial exporting of them is damaging their numbers, certainly no where near as bad as logging and farming is wiping them out (at least if they get exported they stand a chance of adding to a viable population but once the farmers have slah and burnt their habitat they die without any question! ) _________________
