Cleaned out my cresties tank last night and boy did it take a long time. I managed to get everything out and cleaned pretty quick until I took the exo background out. I swear there were at least 50 adult lobster roaches hiding behind it. I guess everytime I fed them (about 5) one or two must have got behind it and over time they were just building up. It took me about 3 hours to finally catch them all and stop them from legging it out of the tank and into my bedroom.
I now feed them roaches out of a small glass bowl that I got and I put a couple of centimetres of vaseline or veg oil around the rim so they can't escape again.
Also I have "hidden" the lay box a little more to make it seem more secure for her when she does come to lay eggs. (It's in the middle )
MJ if you catch this topic I ended up getting a ficus for that gap on the right I was asking you about, it looks good actually and fills the space perfectly. |

Thanks it was worth all the time, I do hate it when people say this but it does look a lot better in real life
I'll try and get some pics of them making the most of their new tank tonight. |

One thing with exo-terra's that always bugs me (ha ha) is the escaping food. So I use copius amouns of moss, the stuff you can buy in the shops to plug the gaps at the top. No escaping roaches in my vivs
If you really wedge it in there, there's no escape. _________________ Kind Regards,

I'm just starting to switch over to exo terras, as you can see mines not quite on par with your natural set up _________________
