Found these five sided boxes made from 4mm acrylic whilst browsing the net. Size 24 inch cube..... can you see where im going lol.

How hard would it be to manufacture some sort of hinged door from 4mm clear acrylic for this sort of thing.
Im in the mood for some DIY arboreal cage experimenting.

I had a play with a similar idea some time back.

A quick and easy way to make a sturdy hinge is to use canvas and silicone. You can also make some sturdy peg-locks using loops of it in the same sort of method.

Would look quite funky if you ask me!

However, how would you support your heating etc away from the sides?

Cheaper and much better quality products from here Wink Plus could be made to spec if requested (maybe worth to ask about the acrylic door?) Cool

Cheers james. I might look into getting something custom knocked up. Still trying to decide between this and another option at the minute.

140 pounds Shocked and then you still need to make a door. I can get custom made glass cages for about half that Cool Never really saw the attraction of acrylic myself, well except for the lesser weight and the not breaking into sharp fragments Very Happy

where are you looking davo, ive just had a look through and cant find them?
I know the herpteks work out cheaper but its the whole visability thing that draws me to the acrylics.

ACRYLIC ARBOREAL ENCLOSURES
I am now producing a range of arboreal acrylic enclosures. These vivs are made from machine grade super tuff 5mm acrylic that whilst having all the display properties of a glass enclosure hold heat very well and are incredibly light weight. Due to the quality of the acrylic these vivs can be drilled through easily to fit heating and lighting and are simply a stunning looking must have enclosure for anybody serious about chondros and Emeralds. A range of sizes will be available but at the moment my standard adult size cage 24x24x18(LxHXD) are now available.

Priced at a very reasonable £199 each.
Disscount available on orders over 4 units.

Pick up only from Surrey area 15 minuets from Gatwick Airport.

Ive seen them in person and ae quality bits of kit and for the money are a real bargain.
