I found a horrendous site showing the stages of skinning these poor things alive. I just hope it was an old site and that kind of thing has stopped. They are gorgeous looking little creatures, I just don't understand how anyone could be so cruel in the name of fashion. Sad

Hi,

yes, you need a license in Belgium to keep this animals. In fact, you need a license for almost any animal you would to keep...

These animals are bred in Russian and China for many years, just for their coat. I've also seen some videos about how they kill them and remove their fur and it's not a nice thing to look at...

We've tried to keep them indoors, butt that didn't worked out. Some of our dogs were scared of them and the cat's weren't... If they can catch a cat, I'm afraid there won't be much left of the cat... So now we have created a nice place in our garden for them (100mē).

These are beautiful little creatures and I enjoy watching them every day. They hate being handled, butt we can play with them, pet them,...

Great pictures, very interesting , thanks for sharing.

Are the white animals fairly common? Were they originally bred for the fur trade? I notice that they aren`t albino.

The winter coat is very impressive.
