FINALLY!!!!!!!!!
well now I am needing to decide between the 400d or the D70s. I cant afford a D200 so its between them 2. Which has the better stock lens as I cant afford a new lens just yet but will get a zoom and a macro over the next 6 months or is there a good kit out there?
Thanks for all your advice

I've always been impressed with the D70 pictures personally. |

is it worth a look then? I want to get this year a decent camera witha decent stock lens, and then over the next few months get a good zoom and a decent macro! wont have huge amounts to spend but shoudl be able to spend about 300 on each lens.
Can you recommend?

Macro is easy..the tamron 90mm is amazing and some say sharper than nikons own!. Look to pay around £270 for that one..I wouldn't go for a kit lens..buy the body then get yourself either a 17-50mm Tamron 2.8 or a tamron 28-75mm 2.8 both are very highly rated and are also fast lenses as they are 2.8.Sigma do an alterative but they don't get as good reviews as the tamron..They retail at about £250 so again within your budget. Or you can buy my 18-70mm which is a very good lens but I am looking to replace with a faster one (17-55mm 2. .
As for a telephoto zoom its a little over your budget but the nikon 100-300mm vr is getting great press and produces some lovely images..Costs around £330..hope this helps. _________________

Having looked into these 2 quite a bit I would say the 28-75mm.If you really need the wide angle then the 17-50mm would have to be the one but I would say the 28-75 would be your best bet..You could always get a wide angle at a later date. I have the sigma 10-20mm which is WIDE! and affordable at £300. _________________
