Have you any pictures of them? |
I have got another question
Has the 'true ghost' ball python been done yet? [hypo x axanthic]
Any pictures?
I think I will love it and haven't seen it yet |
Hi Paul, don't think it has yet ....I may have missed it as I spend so much time on the boa and arboreal forums as well ... there is a lot to keep up with at the moment in the snake morph world.
What do you think of this ......
|
amazing, whats that then or is it classified?? _________________ Regards, Paul.

with GTPs...
I know you also have the carpondro hybrid and other designer GTPs but do you consider it important to also keep breeding true locales, and would you say some of the mainland locales are less important to line breed as the island locales.
Also the Kofiau island GTPs, their "daily colour change", is this down to mood or their temperature?
As the other islands are being looked at to see if they bring back any different looking GTPs (locale specific), what variance would you like to see most (mainly thinking about colour, I think a purely blue locale would be nice)?
Cheers |
I think some/ many of the mainland localities are interbred at the breeding farms in Indo 9at least at some of them) because you see too many that don't seem to match the locality they are from ... thats why Greg Maxwell uses "types" vs actual locality to describe them.
Kofiau color change ... I believe its both mood and temperature ... they are wonderful snakes, tame and need to kept pure.
Everyone wants a pure Blue snake .. check this one .. its a mainland though. its not mine but an importer friend of mine had it in Florida .. outstanding.
|
haha yes, a pure blue locale is all I am asking for... there must be one island
Cheers, and that mainland is beautiful! |

Lynne wrote: | do you feel power feeding can also shorten a snakes life? |
I'm sure it can and I don't agree with it ... if you intend to over feed to get growth, try SMALLER meals .... a friend of mine was sold a huge male Motley boa a few years ago (when they cost real money) and she couldn't get him to feed ... the bozo breeder who sold it had power fed him him ... I've never seen a fat snake in the wild ... yes, one with a meal in it but not fat ... lean males make better breeders. _________________ John Berry

and the only way it will feed is assist and it has been assisted
for about 3 months what would you do.
It is already in a tiny tub. would you leave it for a few weeks or ?? |
I've had to assist some snakes for 2 - 3 mths but if the snake is normal and the environment is good, it should switch to normal food .... try feeding tricks, dark room, warm food, good hide box, try scenting the mouse on a African rat (don't know what you call them in the UK) ? _________________ John Berry

John, what would you say is an acceptable feeding schedule? and how would you describe 'power feeding'?
And yes, I totally agree, lean males of almost all reptiles tend to make better breeders _________________
