I don't discount your experiance at all, but I think theres more to it than just the fact she was gravid without mating. I guess it's one of those things we will never know from just a few yemen female deaths, but for all we know she may of had the same complications if you had mated her too.

To me it just makes no sense that an animal will evolve with such a critical flaw as becoming gravid without mating and then die....just doesn't add up?

quite true mate just shareing what I had happen its up to others to interpret it how they want, personally i feel while no male was a part it was not the whole reason maybe a contributeing factor
