No its not its a mouse-like hamster. They are bizaree things, I did manage to breed mine (I had a female come in pregnant). Some how i managed to convince her to keep the babies and rear them but unfortunatley it was an entirely female litter so my breeding colony is just a female colony. Its a real shame because they are notoriously hard to breed and clearly I'm doing something right for them!
They are scatty as hell, pouchless and love insect and eggfood.
If any one has a male they are prepared to swap a female for... give me a yell.
They seem to need a much higher protien diet than most rodents too.
