I'd be tempted to ask for a break down of how they justify that cost. _________________ Live for today as your dead for a long long time

We in Northern Ireland have just recently had it enforced. Until march you didnt need one, but we all had to get it or lose the snakes after the amnesty period.
My breakdown is this.....
£190 for my 5 snake insurance, through Exotic Direct brokers (you need to show a ref number for your application form from insurers, for the actual licence)
£80 admin fees for the licence (you need to send a copy to exotic direct as soon as you get it).
£87 vet fees
and thats it........hope that helps. No big deal..... _________________ "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy" - Tom Waits |

Right, I was wondering how the new DWAA enforcement would affect you guys in Northern Ireland.
I'm glad you were able to keep your snakes and by the looks of things, you did very well with the reasonable costs you had to meet.
You're paying roughly the same as me, I am also with Exotic Direct. _________________ You can't trust the snake......but you can always trust the snake to be a snake. |

Off course we are all a little pis*** at having to pay anything, but the good thing is, is that it gets the a**holes out of the game...... _________________ "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy" - Tom Waits |

we looked into this and in Nottingham the fee is £1000 up front, BUT if it transpires that the checks they have to make, vets fees etc, comes to less than that, you get the difference paid back to you.
In the end we decided not to go for it, because we do have a large reptile collection and we felt the time and space needed to properly deal with a venomous one might be a problem. _________________ .."since using your new shampoo, my hair has come alive.... signed, Medusa.." |
