The large eyelash is amazingly beautiful, love the roughness of the colours, and the Bushy is just awesome. I was on the Pacific side during the dry season and saw very few reptiles, a few up in the mountains but didn't really have the opportunity to go full on herping. Searching 18-20 hours a day sounds like fun, I was hitting 12-14 in Jamaica and that was tough going, you must be shattered.
Did you bring any interesting parasites back with you?
Slippery42 looks a bit thin and the lining of his mouth is a little pale, and his faeces are a bit runny. Hmmm, faecal sample to the vet-lab me thinks

wow, thanks for sharing these great shots. That strange little frog does indeed look interesting. I really liked the general landscape and environment, i think even if you didn't see much, it looks like a fantastic place to visit. Love the viper pics. Interesting to see the snakes catching an easy roadkill meal too! Can't believe a newspaper used your photograph/s! |

Yeah because journalists are well known for their honesty and integrity.

Nice pics! CR is a beautiful place, on my list of must-go countries. I will anyway as soon as the kids are a bit older, but even so a special herping trip sounds nice. Did you organize it all yourself?
You did see A LOT of species. Any recommendations on the best time of year to go there?
Any tips on avoiding crotch rot, as I think the medical term is? |

This trip was in the wet season and we found more than in the dry season.
A friend and I did the organising and its quite easy and relatively cheap if you camp out like we did.
If you go in the wet season you stand a good chance of fungal infections!! _________________ Live for today as your dead for a long long time
