|
|
Hi guys,
I have just cut down a nice lot of small trees at the back of our garden, mostly they are sycamores, and a few Ash..
I have some nice branches that i would like to use in my crestie vivs, and also when I get round to building my stack of vivs, so would like to store some for later.
Are these type of tree ok to use? Obvuously I will be thoroughly cleaning the wood before hand..
Thanks _________________ Custom made vivs to your requirements. Pm me or email to qualityvivs@hotmail.co.uk |

As long as they are baked to kill off parasites then yes they are fine, its only evergreen trees with their acidy sap that you cant use safely. _________________ Kind Regards,

mind to stir and season though (oops wrong forum )
another thing i do as well is put them in the bath and allow them to soak in hot water , then use a scrubbing brush to get of any loose bark .
the water that soaks into the wood helps the humidity too id guess _________________ Eyeless frogs welcome...

Cheers for that. Well I have today picked up some of the branches I cut, and also some ivy vine. I have the ivy currently soaking in the bath...lol.. My GF is gonna go nuts when she gets in and wants a bath...
Im gonna do what you said negri and leave it for a while and scrub it with a scrubbing brush... _________________ Custom made vivs to your requirements. Pm me or email to qualityvivs@hotmail.co.uk |
