I've got 2.6 AFT's but only 3 are breeding this year, hopefully when all 6 females start next year I'll have eggs coming out of my eggs Very Happy

I have noticed that both male and female seem to lose all interest in food while breeding/egg laying and lose weight drastically, so much that the females tails remind me of a rat Shocked
I have them separate for about a month now and the male has regained the normal fat tail but the females are taking a lot longer to regain the weight.
I think next year i will probabaly leave the males in with the females for a few days, once every few weeks.
Maybe this will reproduce what happeneds in the wild and keep the pressure off the females and hopefully then they will eat more while being gravid and not be imtimidated by the much larger male.

I always remove my male while the girls are gravid. He interferes with their feeding, egg development and laying.

He's a randy little blighter!

i keep all of them seperate and then just place the female in with the male for a night then take her back out!! seems to work for me so i can monitor the health of them.
