Hi Darren
I used weeping figs (ficus) mainly, bought from B&Q or Homebase.

or if you're looking for something a bit nicer, try http://www.urbanbromeliad.co.uk/index.htm they have some amazing plants and can also advise on the best way to keep them alive in vivs.

ikea had a lot of cheap plants that were on a list of safe plants

also homebase do plants much smaller and younger (and therefore cheaper) than B+Q so you could check out there too

Pothos (also called devils ivy) is good.
Wandering Jews are nice and do well with decent lighting
Ficus spp"s do well.
Dischidia spp some work well some not so well.

Bromeliads (Neoregelia, Aechmea) do well on decent lighting but do better with stronger lights if you want the flashy foiliage colouring.
Other bromeliads that are easy to get from super markets and DIY stores are Guzmania and vriesea hybrids. The thing to remember with these are they are normally close to the last part of thier life cycles so the nice brach spikes wont last long Wink Also a not to remember is most of these have been forced on and dwarfed so the pups will out grow the mother plant by alot.

Remember to give the plants a good wash in tepid water and a mild detergent to remove any pestacides and or ferts that may have been sprayed on them.. I'm not sure how important that is with reptiles but with amphibians it's very important.

What kind of lighting are you using for the vivarium?

(thanks for the plug Scott Cool )

one of our main problems with having liveplants in our viv has been the locusts eating them!!!!

Cheers for the help guys.

Ive just been to BnQ and got some Weeping Figs (ficus benjamin).

Ill try these out for now and see how they go.

There about 12cm at the moment.

I assume I just need to give them a good wash as mentioned above and I was going to replant them in peat moss.

Ive not sorted out the lighting yet as my terrarium does not arrive until Monday.

Once Ive got the set up sorted I might look at getting some other plants from the link about too.

Darren
