i have an adult trio of ackies, but one of the females isnt doing to well all of a sudden. so i have seperated it off, the problems are that her eyes are closed all the time and are puffed out?? also she seems to have thick excess skin on her neck and i have tried bathing her, but it doesnt come off any ideas??

what kind of substrate are you using?

the eye thing sounds like it could be a result of too much dust.

is it half peat and sand!it isnt that dusty tho!but now it is on tissue paper! Sad

newspaper and lots of misting should get rid of eye puffiness.

I think what you have done in seperating her onto paper towel is the right way to go to monitor her, is the excess skin on the back of her neck?, because they do sometimes take a little damage here from the males. Not sure about the eye problem though, can you post up a photo of her?

well my mum went to the vets this morning to get sum eye cream which is used on cats and dogs, she put it on this morning and went in just now to check and her eyes are open which is a good sign!! it just looks like she hasnt shed on the neck!! looks like of dead skin!i am putting cream on her and seems to be doing the trick!! fingers crossed!

I would say that is from the male mating with the female, i would get a laying box ready. Smile
