Ikea at lakeside thurrock (Essex) has a section beside their bargain basement (next to the checkouts) that has FREE WOOD!!!!!!

I picked up 4 great looking pieces - very dense, melamin coated contiboard kind of pieces only to find they were about 2 inches too large to fit in my girlfriends 306 Sad

So I thought I would post here to let anyone else in the area who has a bigger car than my girlfriend get their hands on this great bargain.

Rob

ooh, they also had a bunch of live plants suitable to use in vivariums for £1.49 so I bagged myself abargain with those instead!

What ever happened to tying down boards to the roof of the car or tying down the door with a rope?

Hey... it's free. If you managed to get home with one board -- it's a bargain!

we were gutted that the wood was just 2 inches too long.
didnt have any rope to tie the boot shut and b+q was already shut.

well hopefully with a bigger car will benefit from my lucky find.

I tied some hardboard to the roof once, got 5 minutes from B&Q and saw a large 3ft section break off and fly over onto the hard shoulder Embarassed we pulled up at a set of lights 2 minutes down the road and the car next to me shouted over "you lost some wood back there!", I shouted back "It's ok, it was only the off cuts" Laughing
