hiya
ive been at uni and my boyfriend has been looking after the cresties for me, he knows about reps keeps chams.
went round today and checked on them, elmo seems fine, but splodge seems to have lost some weight. i can tell this because he has loose skin on his sides. he doesnt look anorexic ie cant see his bones and things, but does look thin and has deffinately lost weight. he comming into shed so was gonna leave him untill tomoro when he should have shed and see how he is.
all the crickets are being eaten and they are eating some fruit.
can anyone sudgest what it could be. theres no evidence of fighting, and they are on natural substrate, but they do eat from food bowls so it is unlikely that it could be ingestion of substrate although it is always a possibility.
im thinking the best thing to do would be to split them so i can monitor his feeding and run him to the vets for an x-ray. anyone sudgest anything i can do in the mean time? i cant get him until tomoro night as marcs at work all day. so ill have to take him to the vet tuesday.

I don't know but it's that time when most adult Cresties are thinking of reproducing so maybe their hormone and agression levels are up leading to stress and bullying, maybe it's time to split them up and get them some ladies. |

I would relax on the illness read ups, a lot of 'symptoms' can be attributed to a disease, but can also be nothing sinister at all.
Geckos do have tendency to randomly reduce their eating due to feeling a little stressed with a situation, or just seemingly for the hell of it!
I know its not the same gecko but my male E.macularius has periods of not eating, looses a bit of weight then gets his appetite back. Could be as simply as that.
Your crestie may feel a bit intimidated by the other, or may even just have lost out on a favourite hiding spot etc. Go with the separation plan and see how that goes before you rush to the vets is my advice. _________________ Kind Regards,
