i have 2 hermans tortoises one is about 2 years old (male) the other is coming up to 3, now i have been told this summer that i have two boys, but i recently took both to the vet for worming and my youngest the boy is trying to hump the biggest one and making rather funny noises, like a sqeak, the vet told me today that he is sure 90% that the oldest is a girl, how can you tell?
and if i did have two boys would this be normal behviour my male trying so hard to mate??
if i have aone of each sex then they could mate i guess and when would this likey to happen?
and is it hard to look after the eggs?

I thought that the plastron was concave if it was a male..could be wrong as I no nowt about them..

YEAH IT IS BUT THE TROUBLE IS THEY ARE BOTH SO YOUNG AND THE VET EVEN SAID ITS STILL QUITE HARD...LOL

if you can post a photo up of their undersides showing the tail regions I should be able to tell you.

You should be able to sex them at that age very easy.
