hi there,i have got a little problem,i have 2 leos in 2 different terras and i heat them by basking lamps 15w but the fact is that i can't really control totally the temperatures in the vivs.how can i do that without using a thermostat(a temperature controller thing).
how do you heat your leos?
what are the good temperatures for them in °C?

use heater pads not lamps as leos are nocturnal so require no lighting anyway. If you turn off the light at night it will drop to a low temperature way to low for a leo. Try having a heater pad under one third of the vivarium and use a light (simple bulb) for lighting, turn off the light at night, this will give a natural drop in temperature

you shouldn't use ANY Heater lamp or heat mat without a thermostat, if your natural air temperature fluctuates what is going to stop the gecko being burnt alive if your lamp over heats or the mat sets on fire?
you only need a temp of 88-90 degrees for a leopard gecko, the thermostat should be set to cut of the heater when it reaches that temp. how does yours know when to switch off without a thermostat? Shocked

As DaisyLeo say's you should really use a thermostat, especially if your vivariums are quite small. I'm sure you can buy one for less than 50 euros.
