i just pu ton my daylight bulbs (a desk lamp) and i put a thick piece of red plastic over it, so the tnak is now red. I put some crickets in, and the crested gecko is hunting and chasing crickets, does this mean that he cant see the lights i have put on. If so can i leave it on all night?? |

I get some red/purple plastic sheets and put them under my UV strip at the top at night so that the whole tank goes dark red. My crestie doesn't mind.
Just make sure that no extra heat is given off that the crestie doesn't want at night, other than that it'll probably work well. |

I have a 36w daylight T5 tube in the day for the plants and this keeps the ambient temp ~75-76f, and a 15w exo terra moon glow bulb at night for a little warmth and for viewing, though it is incredibly dim... So for proper nocturnal viewing I need about 5-10 minutes for my eyes to adjust It does actually 'mimic' natural moonlight very well, but you can't see that much lol _________________ Steve P |
