Ok here goes my first proper thread on this site.

Came across this interesting photo yeserday whilst

doing a spot of reseach.

Couldn't download it onto my post, I'm afraid I'm

not very computer savy! Sad

Maybe one of the other site members could have

a shot at it?

Anyway link to this site and take a look Shocked Shocked

http://www.venomousreptiles.org/libraries/showfilepage/3979?offset=7

Anyway, I stared in disbelief at this photo

for a very long time..............

When I finally recovered I checked out this link

to find out more:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grace_Olive_Wiley

What an amazing person Idea Idea Idea

Yep Grace Olive Wiley was an interesting character, there's a great piece about her in an old Vivarium magazine.

Didn't she finally die from a cobra bite?

Her husband also died from a cobra bite if my memory serves me well. The indian cobra that bit and killed her was not one of her own but simply a new import she was asked to hold for a photo.
A true shame, the pair of them were amazing at habituating venomous snakes for handling. I think I know the magazing Scott is referring to and it had a photo of a 5 or 6 year old girl holding a fully grown King cobra! Amazing what people did before health and safety Smile
