for the last while ive noticed that my beardie has like little ripples on his back, ripples of skin folding up. and i know that when people are dehydrated, when u pinch there skin, it stays up. and this is like the same. i was just wondering if this is due 2 dehydraation?

thanks!

As long as he seems fine and is behaving normally (eating, pooping etc.) there should be nothing to worry about. If he's losing weight or appears lethargic, you might want to get him checked over by your vet, but I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Is he eating ok? And what is he eating? Do you provide a drinking bowl? Some beardies will not drink from a bowl, especially as babies. Try spraying your beardie with tepid water once a day and see if he improves any.

Actually, it's quite possible your beardie is dehydrated if the lapped skin is a change-(as in it appears to have lost weight). Beardies often won't recognize standing water as drinking water. We learnede this the hard way when our girl was young.
Place your dragon in a shallow dish withtepid/rm temp water in it up to the "armpits" of the dragon.
If it is calm standing or resting its belly in the water then go ahead and drip gently drops of water on it's nose and If it is dry, it will drink.
When you feed your beardie salad mist it well and give the soaks 2 times per week.
Beardies are much more likely to drink moving water. You can also tap your clean finger in your beardies water dish to get the dragons attention to the water.
I have also had sucess with sick/ dry beardies by putting a small amt of strawberry juice in the water I am trying to get them to drink.
Hope that helps

The easiest way to tell if your Dragon is dehydrated is to look at the top of its head. If you look directly behind the eyes and before the spiked scales that area should be completely flat or even slightly raised. But if you can see 2 indents (1 behind each eye, and take up almost the whole of what should be the flat area) your animals dehydrated.
