Hi, I am looking into buying 100 ball pythons from a dealer in America. They are all CB06. How much would it cost import them into the UK? Also And how much of that will be tax, vat and import duties etc?
Please reply as this will be much appreciated. |

i too would be interested in this information, more out of interest than intention of importing, i considered it a few years back, but the strong pound and weak dollar does make it a much more interesting possibility these days.

All depends what the shipment is worth, how much it weighs and how much space it takes up.
You have the following to add on to the actual cost of the reptiles
Air shipping fees
air port handling fees
AQS fees
CITES export fees (normally)
Clearance fees
Vet's fees
Plus VAT @ 17.5% of the value of the reptiles and all the other costs too.
Yes, importing can save you money but more often than not the cost, stress and uncertainty of what you are actually getting (and if you actually get it) makes importing on a small scale just not worth the effort.
I'm guessing a 100 CF ball pythons bought here direct from a wholesaler would work out cheaper. _________________

Personally I'd not even bother trying to this type of import. _________________ Live for today as your dead for a long long time

He does and the snakes he is importing will cost a lot more then 100 CB (I'm guessing normals )
Like Scott said there's no point importing if your bringing hardly anything in unless you bring in a big shipment or even a small shipment that’s worth a lot of ££££.
You would most likely find a shipment of 100 CB normals would cost more then the snakes.
So Freddy-Krgr would be better off looking wholesaler.
I have looked into spending $13k-14k on royal morphs to get imported into England from American but it would have cost to much for the damn shipment |

Yes Lingy, I do import royals and many other species, infact I had a great little arrival today from California But I certainly wouldn't import cheap 'bulk' trade type animals, like 100 CF royals, nothing wrong with the fact they are CF (some of my best royals are), just that they can be bought for cheap enough here and you get to see them BEFORE having them shipped 4000 miles. _________________
