in an aquaterrarium they can make up their own minds. personally ive found marbled to be a more terrestrial species in their habits than other european newts |

mine are just on moss as they are babaies at the moment. I should think the standard "drainage (leca), peat/biologically active yet chemical free compost and moss set up would be fine. Maybe a mix of bark chips and moss for top layer. _________________ Interested in amphibians? Join us at Myamphibia for friendly banter, amazing pictures and great information. mine are on bark chips, half of which are covered by moss. there are hides at both ends, they show a marked preference for the drier areas.
