Nice Gonios! Which species do you keep? I have a pair of lowland G. hainanensis, but I'm not up to mark with identifying the different species.
Mine are probably the best feeders I own! Very enthusiastic and non too shy eaters. _________________

they are all G.hainaensis. Umn...I have been thinking about this "lowland" and "highland" of G.hainanensis and i think there isnt a different between them. G.lichtenfelderi is the one that is very similar to G.hainanensis because G.lichtenfelderi is from main land China and G.hainanensis is from Hainan island. so there isnt really a such different between highland and lowland G.hainanensis.
I do find that CB's are more enthusiastic than the WC's because i have got both of them and CB's can eat finely with me watching but the WC's will not eat at all. WC's are very shy i would say...post some pics up to show us if you can~~ |

As far as I know the "highland" and "lowland" tags are only really used to describe the looks, theres definately not enough in it to describe them as separate subspecies and not really enough of a difference to call them proper 'locales'. Mine aren't stunningly bright so I've sided with lowland.
Anyway, I have a 1.1 WC/LTC pair. The female (Katana) has a regen tail but is by far the tamest and most laid back. She's actually quite handleable and a very nice little gecko.
^ When I first took her on she wasn't really in top notch condition. She was skinny, dehydrated, a little MBD-ish from laying in the summer while growing back her tail and she had an enormous blister behind her right eye.
^ You can see the blister in this picture (but you can't really appreciate it's size!), her swollen ankles and her skinny little tail.
^I have never managed to get any decent pictures of Sensei, he's too flighty to handle and too stealth-ninja to photograph. His night markings showed up nicely in this snap.
^ Full-body shot of Sensei. He wasn't in such a state as Katana.
^But all's well that ends well. My other half has got a new camera so heres a recent picture of Katana's right eye and not a trace of the blister or any mark has remained.
^And the left eye. _________________

Wow~~very nice and distinct pattern they have!!
This is Ruby, she is a big mama!! she has been laying eggs 7 times this year...
the one at the right is ruby. i do think that the colour of female G.hainanensis is tend to be red comare to the male.
she has quit a short tail and there isnt any rings on it.
and this is Flamy, he has a beautiful tail but he doesnt have very nice stripes i mean the yellow stripes are made up of yellow pellets.
he is also the tamest one,but only to me...
you will not believe this is flamy, he was attack by another male that i had and was kept individual box for 2 weeks.

Ruby is one good looking gecko! Looks like she must have shed her whole tail at some point. Are yours breeding reguarly? I've had a few ovulations but not laying. _________________
