About a month ago I traded a Leachie for 3 adult red female Cresties, the guy I got them from said he had paired one of the Cresties with a Chahoua and said I could expect some eggs, anyway just found two eggs in nest box, what do you guys think I should do.
Terminate the eggs now.
Try to Hatch them and pass them on as hybreds(I don't want them).
Try to hatch them and feed them to my Leachie.

personally I wouldn't like to see them enter the trade but if you wanted to keep them and see if they hatch then I guess that would be interesting, I think I would then feed them to the leachies _________________

I agree with scott on this one, Its been done before, the real scarey thing is as your probably aware already is that eventually a chahoua x cilatus can be bred back to look like a crestie or a chahoua & be from the X genes....
Just my thoughts
Kind regards

If the eggs were fertile and baby(ies) did hatch, would they be sterile as they are crosses? I hopeless at genetics but common sense tells me they would be.
Personally, I would throw they eggs out now. There's something not right about hybrids in my opinion. Of course you could feed them to your leachie (excellent source of protein), but I'm soft and wouldn't be able to...lol. _________________ Best wishes, Jackie

I would say ditch the eggs now.
Just don't seem right to hatch and fed them to adults. Maybe I am just a softy but no need when you can just not hatch them in 1st place. |

If you yourself don't wish to keep them I know I would offer them a home here with no breeding purpose in mind if you would hatch the eggs. I quite like the crosses. |

I like the crosses too, but just for looks. They are beautiful and I heard they have great temperaments. If you don't want one, send him my way. I'll set up a nice permanent home for him, pet only. _________________ 1.1.2 Crested Geckos (Kovu, Regeane, Binx, and "Eve"

Thomas I've just thought, if crestie you have has indeed been mated with a chahoua that mean's that potentially she could store sperm for a number of months, thus resulting in future egg's being clitatusxchahoua for several months ahead??? I realise that its still winter but there is every chance come spring she could lay eggs that are fertilised from chahoua sperm from the previous year?
Are you planning to keep that particular female seperate for a few months isolated from males until your confident that you can breed her sucessfully without the danger of chahoua sperm inside her?
Just a little concerned that the crestie you have may be a little redundant for a good few months until your sure all is well etc.
Thinking ahead...
