Hi,
I was thinking of setting up some cresties in my room in my old mesh chameleon cage (100 gallon Reptarium with softtrays - about 5 foot by 3 foot by 2 foot). Would this be suitable or would there be problems maintaining humidity? Temperature wise i have a ceramic heater i can use to raise the temp if necessary on a pulse stat. Was thinking of starting off with maybe 3 crested gecko's in there as it is a fairly large enclosure.
Regards

Is that one of those 'material' mesh cages? Never used one for cresteds but they look to me like the cresteds wouldn't like the material mesh to much, you'll need to find out from someone else if cresteds are ok in that type of cage.
If they are fine with the mesh then no, humidity wouldn't be a problem, just place live plants and spray regular.
Don't use a ceramic spot lamp though, it's far too hot and dry type of heat. What sort of temps does the room get where you plan to keep the cresteds? _________________

yes it's the material mesh rather than the 'solid' mesh. As far as room temp goes i'm not too sure about the exact temp but it's never really warm or hot. If anything it gets a bit cool. I will get a temp gauge and get a reading for my room.
If heating is necessary what would you suggest?
Thanks for the reply.

a low wattage heat mat on the outside of the viv, up high on a side wall, preferably with a hide covering some. _________________
