How big are they now?
Also I was reading in Mertensiella that griseus only shed once a year. Before hibernation, how does that workout with cb animals that doesn't need the hibernation?

The largest males are 80cm from snout to tail end, females 60-75cm.
I found that they are no different to any other varanid when it comes to shedding, they shed regular whether you hibernate or not. Where this came from is a mystery to me because I have found this piece of literature regarding shedding to be complete nonsense. Maybe someone just made it up to make their scientific paper sound more interesting? |

What's probably more likely is, someone saw one shed before hibernation and assumed that's what they do.
(We all know assumption is the mother of all **** ups  ) |
