How big are they now?
Also I was reading in Mertensiella that griseus only shed once a year. Before hibernation, how does that workout with cb animals that doesn't need the hibernation?

The largest males are 80cm from snout to tail end, females 60-75cm.

I found that they are no different to any other varanid when it comes to shedding, they shed regular whether you hibernate or not. Where this came from is a mystery to me because I have found this piece of literature regarding shedding to be complete nonsense. Maybe someone just made it up to make their scientific paper sound more interesting?

What's probably more likely is, someone saw one shed before hibernation and assumed that's what they do.

(We all know assumption is the mother of all **** ups Wink )
