lol more questions
i know that cresties have a diet of bugs and fruit / cgd/babyfood
ive got the bugs dusted and the CGD/babyfood bit ok but
what fruits do they like and is it to be mushed up ?
how do they feed in the wild ? do they pick fruits off trees or do they feed of fruit that has fell to the floor and broke ?(with want for a better word )
so really just wanting to know what fruits to give them and if they should be chopped , diced or blended
cheers _________________ Eyeless frogs welcome...

in use banana for my own crestie food mix
i also would use apricots and peaches if neeed
however i think it is best to stay clear of citrus fruits.
i have a suspission citrus acids could cause some problems with the cresties digestion leading to bigger problems _________________ ULI |

I blend the fruit to a thin pulp and then put it in an ice-cube tray and freeze it. Then defrost how ever much I need. Mine love apple, banana, peach, pear, papaya, kiwi, apricot and fresh figs. I have found that my trio don't like cherries or strawberries. I have three ice cube trays which I fill with the different fruits. Each time I vary the fruit mixture I give them. I try not to give them banana too often. _________________ Best wishes, Jackie

i found this when researching gehyra vorax
my cresties luv it
don't forget to supplement
3 jars fruit baby food (peaches, apricots, Hawaiian delight, etc.)
1 small jar of chicken baby food
1 whole banana
2 teaspoons of honey
1 teaspoon of lemon juice (used as a preservative)
10 drops of liquid vitamin (we use a vet prepared mix for herps but any high quality
avian multi vitamin will work)
This is mixed in a blender until smooth and then poured into cocktail ice cube trays and frozen. The cubes can be thawed and fed in a few seconds. _________________ ULI |

I've found that the only baby food my Cresties,Aurics and Leachies really liked is Bannana and Apricot,I only add a bit to my CGD about 1/8 and I don't feed any live food.I read on the Rapashy forums that Rachs love fresh Figs but my Leachies or Gargs would'nt take them.Twice a week I add a bit of Nutrobol to the mix which the Crestie will take but I found the other Rachs won't touch it.Hope this helps although I appreciate they all have different tastes. |
