Hi folks,
I'm looking (a while in the future) to make an investment and get a mack snow leo for breeding, but I want to get the partner for this hypothetical gecko now as my first gecko. I've been researching for the past year, and think I know what I'm doing (hope I know what I'm doing!). Thing is, in a normal I like very dark colours, if I get a gecko like this will the future hypothetical offspring with a mack snow be not of such good colours?
Thanks

good question, not sure if Mack Snows have been around long enough for anyone to have a good answer. Mack snows are genetic & are co-dominant. So in theory breeding a mack snow to a normal should give you a 50% chance of each baby being another mack snow, breeding two mack snows should produce Super Mack snows. But going back to the 'dark' leo question.....I have no idea _________________

with it being co-dom would a dark normal mate help to create cleaner lighter snows? a hypermelanistic baby when albino'd or snowed usually gets a cleaner lighter animal.
would not know if its the same with leo's though? _________________ 1.0 striped supersalmon DEAD

It's true Pete. That is a theory at the moment. I know of at least 2 people trying this out. Lets hope in the near future, we can have the answer. _________________ Well butter my bum and call me a biscuit! |
