My boiga cyanea(dannie, the cat eye) shed last night:-)
Had him since about may. It was touch and go for abit there(With him not eating) but has been eating without problem with many many months now.
There isnt much info online about boiga cyanea(plenty of photos and people saying they have them, but not one decent "care sheet") so its been learn as I go and lots of talking to fellow keepers.
My advice if you keep boiga cyanea yourself...try cutting a mouse/rat pinky in half and dripping some lizard maker scent onto both halfs...leave it to defrost/thraw out. Im still not convinced this liquid is the reason dannie started eating, but I tried half a pup with scent on, half without. He agressively attacked and ate the half with the scent on.
now he has shed, his hunger should return and ill try some more experiements to see if his eating is because of lizard scent.
Boiga cyanea are a very fun snake to keep. While alot of snakes will do not much.....dannie jets about his viv and seems to enjoy being held(im just another tree to him.lol)
Ill get some photos of his set up, but till then its a planeted viv with peat, a fake tree(he stays in this alot) and some safe plants(he drinks water droplettes from the leaves)
for a lil guy he has such a 'tude. For a boiga cyanea he is a darling. very little agression:-) lol
no real reason to this post, just maybe someone will read the advice contained in this post and help their snake be happyier. oh yeah, if you keep boiga C, post some advice and tips you have found to work in this post, if you want to that is:-) post new photos too
peace
