New question: Wink

The thermostats (habistat - dimming) only go up to about 32 degrees - not hot enough for basking spot. To get a higher temp, do you place the probe away from the spot bulb just enough so that the basking spot is the right temp (circa 130 degrees)?

Thanks!

Ditch the stat I did for me sandfish and use a 60watt hits 120 nicely

I'd have to use a highere wattage, 130 is apparently the low end of the scale for ackie basking spots, 150-160 even! Shocked

I still kinda want a stat, would make my Mum a lot happier about fire risks!

I usually use stats to monitor the cool end , just play about with the basking stack or raise or lower the light until you get the temp you want
