As above Very Happy

It fed tonight and has been walking around and when it went for its crickets its tail was swishing around in the air like a cats does. I hate calling it "it".

The only regret I have is not getting one sooner Very Happy Laughing These are fantastic little critters. I will be getting friends for it ASAP being social.
I was told to keep it on kitchen roll but from what ive read they can be kept on sand from babies anyway. What do you do Dantro?

well amanda has had hers on sand since they were really really tiny. so i dont see why you cant. she also cut the cardboard inserts from loo rolls up to use as wee hides, and to lift them she uses the cardboard. they are soo delicate she likes to pick some sand up with them. hers are getting bigger now though. if you like i will get her to shove thier tub on, let you see. aint they just so cute when they are tiny. yours is lovely. do you want male/female or arent you bothering what it is?

I was hoping for it to be female. I have plans for a display tank with lotsa female stenos and maybe 1 male. Im not sure if i want to breed becus of all the eggbound problems thats id worry about but i think theyre the type to produce eggs without males and ive been told that reptiles have more trouble passing infertile eggs than fertile. I would love a breeding project.

Great looking little one!
I keep mine on sand too, it helps make them feel secure and i also use the piece of cardboard tube as a hide for them, cut so it sits very low as they love to dig under ...
They are great when u get a group set up .. i have 4 males and 10 females and 4 and once they settle in they breed like rabbits!

Righty then mines going onto sand tonight. Smile

I was told by coldblooded to spray them once a day and they dig about to make little tunnels with the wet sand.

Have you ever lost any to eggboundcy?

I have never lost any at all to eggboundancy ..
My adults sometimes dig tunnels, but mostly they sit under the cork, i do spray the adults a couple of times a week, i dont spray the yougsters myself but they do have wet sand due to the small water bowl (very very small) spilling, havent seen them dig tunnels yet though ... yet! ..

thankyou all for your comments and congrats. Im still waiting for my eggs to hatch but im begining to think that only ones viable and the rest have air bubbles in their tops that take up half the egg space. day 55 tomorrow
