Hey guys,

Told you it wouldn't be long before the questions started Wink

This evening I did indeed come into possession of another addition to the family. An adult male C.Calyptratus. I have been advised by both his original owner and the guy who has had him on loan for the last year that he won't touch crickets and will only eat locusts. I can see this getting expensive. Any tips as to how I might go about broadening his tastes in feeder insects?

Cheers!

bulk buying may be a good option and i have also seen threads on american forums about breeding locusts, maybe a dubia colony aswell, im definately going to start using dubias when mine are old enough.

Thank you guys Smile

As regards the locusts, I've been doing my research today and I am going to buy them in in bulk and see how I go cost wise... if it gets too much then I'll think about breeding them but I think, as I have discussed in another thread, that breeding them might be a tad unnecessary at this stage seeing as it'd only be for one animals benefit... three animals tops.

The roaches are a very tempting but right now as I'm living at home again between uni and getting my own place sorted and my ma hates roaches I'd rather stay away from that one for now Wink I might just buy in a tub or something and see if he'll take them cuz that way, if I've got an obvious reason for needing them and can ensure no escapes and no contact between them and my ma then I'm sure she'll see sense!
