i have a pair of chewies in the same tank around 2.5 years old and all of a sudden the females tail has gone all zig-zag?? is there any think i can do to help or prevent this ??

Hi,the female is taking calcium to form eggs,offer a dish of calcium powder and watch her closely as she should lay a couple of eggs soon.After laying make sure she is fed well and the tail will straighten out again.So be prepared for eggs.

Hey Dean, would you recommend putting a dish of calcium in with all breeding rhacs? I thought about it but didn't know whether my females (cresties) would ever actually bother taking some.

I tried it Phil, never saw them touch it but it certainly won't do any harm.

they have been together for months and no eggs!! i will try that!! would a pinkie be any good?? will she be ok ?

Hi, I have seen all my chahoua pairs use it and placed it with some other pairs cresteds,gargoyles and Saras but they never seemed to take it.Mine never lay eggs before the middle of June and they are together full time they seem to have their own season

NIGHT MARE !
i have a number of chewies!! one of my young females dropped her tail for no reason a couple of months ago! now she has just started shaking !! i am goin to mix calicum and water together and feed it her but any other ideas??
