|
|
Well finally my little het caramel female laid, wasn't expecting her to even become gravid but thought I'd give her a try and see if she was ready or not.
She was 1300g when ovulated and now weighs 880g after laying. She is an 05 animal but never was a great feeder.
4 eggs weighing 365g's, 1 slug weighing 26g's.
A chance of 2 Caramels to hatch if I hit the odds, but with a 50/50 of each egg it could be 4 caramels or 4 hets ....the count down is on _________________

I am using a much dryer vermiculite mix now though, 1 part water to 8 parts vermiculite by VOLUME. _________________

yeah, out of the first few clutches I had a few eggs go bad, these eggs were perfect looking when they were laid, couldn't fault them at all but they still went off during incubation.
Now that could of been their destiny and they had no chance of hatching no matter what or how I set them up but overall I just feel that slightly dryer is safer than too wet.
We'll see the results by the end of the season, although one problem is I didn't actually mark up the dryer boxes _________________
