I must make sure I don't go in the same shops as you Lynne, or go in with a clothes peg at the ready Laughing

The snake im getting is about 2.5-3ft he is a beutiful specimen and he is so tame like a little puppy dog. so im not bothered by the bites its probably only gonna happen if i provoke in some way. the pet shop lady said i should expect maybe a little bit of musking at first while he is settling in but after he should be ok. thanks for info guys just got a better paid job so may be getting him sooner than i thought Very Happy cant wait.

call me tom.

The substrate is a mixture of aspen and orchid bark. I really lke using this mixture because, aspen is really good for snakes, as they can burrow in it, but in my opinion it looks a bit boring, so i added orichid bark to make it look more aesthetically pleasing. I used a mixture of about 1:2 bark to aspen mixture.

I use the same mixture with my corns, but with them i used 3:4 bark to aspen.

hope this helps.

if you have any more questions i will happily answer them

That size viv will be spot on for your milk snake.
I prefer orchid bark or rainforest bark for this species - I've found they often hide buried in the bark.
