Not been on here for a while so I guess it's time for an update. I don't know if you guys remember my dud egg ages ago from the cresties but I left them together and got nothing for months. Then decided I'd take the male out for a bit so the female could have a rest and be housed with my other female.
Few weeks later (Feb 23rd) I see this in the substrate...
I had a bit of a dig around and couldn't find the other so just assumed there was just the one. So setup a tub and got it out...
OK so then I decided to re-do the natural setup last week so I got the two females out into a temporary tank and got to work on it. I was digging about in the substrate with a trowel (!) and I dug up another egg. And then 2 others!
Two looked good (if a little stained from the substrate) but one was totally brown and smelt a bit but I still kept it, I guess that was the other egg to the first clutch so had gone bad in the substrate.
The brown egg on the right was moved into it's own tub but it's going furry and stinks so I don't think that will last much longer but the rest are perfect.
Then Saturday night I noticed the female buried in the substrate in the temporary tank and so yesterday morning I had a dig around and found two more eggs, one is a weird shape and doesn't look all that good but the other one is one of the best looking eggs I have so far.
So it's looking like I have 4 good eggs out of the 6 so far, the female that laid all these is still looking healthy and weighs in at about 45g so hopefully she will stop laying soon and I'll feed her up more before she breeds again. The other female I got from rudders is doing really well and is up to about 46g but I'm going to wait until she is massive before she even sees the male.
Sorry for the HUGE post guys |

Cheers Paul, yeah they're just at room temp so they might take a while to hatch. I'm thinking mid June for the first one(s) maybe? I don't know really, ah well it's all part of the fun |
