can anyone post some pictures male and female mangrove monitors so i can try and sex my mangrove monitor i think its female but i cud be wrong, it has a smaj head to its body and the tail tapers in more nearer to the base than iv seen on the males... can anyone help thanks

I have learned through trial and error, how to get this species "paired up".
When raising juvenile WC's (4 per cage), they all get along fine.
They hit a certain size then the 2 dominant Monitors pair up, they will chase and just plain roust the subordinates to the point of death if you don't separate them.

In the case of my adults, I bought my male and left him in an enclosure by himself.
I then put a female in with him, they got along fine. (a lucky pairing)

My male would gently check out the new female, no problems here!
I tried to switch female on him and things were a bit different.
My male was not so gentle with this second female.
He was very aggressive with this female, not looking to hurt her...just very aggressively seeking her out.
I put the two pairs back together and all is well again.

I can tell you two females together with a male has never worked out for me.

Thats interesting Mike, i've found that with a couple of Ackies i had as well. one female dominated the other.

Trios often work out with mammals, but not with reptiles. One of my Rankins trios has the same problem. The one female spends all her time hiding from the other female. Never seen them fight, but the older female certainly seems to know her place.

I notice this dominating behavior at about 14" to 18", then I had to separate them.
This was in one of my raise up cages, 6'L, 3'W, 2'H.
