|
|
It's been just over 7 weeks now since the gilas have been in hibernation, think it's about time to wake them up.
Temps during hiberantion have hovered around 59f (15c) and down to as low as 50f (10c), max temp went up to 68f (20c).
I'll slow wake them up over the next few days and hopefully post up a few photos. _________________

i thought so to the look sluggish but i bet the can move and get to your fingers a lot faster than you expect them.
i have also heard there jaws aren't going to let go when the get you either, but cause there a lot of myth's about pitbulls as well I'm doubting this.
(about jaw-locking and all)
greetings jelle
PS: i bet the will bite hard tho |

as Stuart say's they can be quick when they want to be, they tend to bite with a side ways action. Gilas up to about 18months to 2 years are very 'bitey' but once they hit the 2 year mark they seem to really settle down, you could free handle them to a degree (although the risk of a bite is always there!).
As for not letting go, well once they bite a mouse you can pick the whole lizard up by the other end of the mouse, so yes they do have strong jaws...lol _________________
