Hi all, I have a crack in the base of one of my darts exoterra. I know the normal easy route would be to place a siliconed peace of glass over the top, but I cant do this due to having a foamed background in the tank. Can any one advise or comment on either of the following repair options:

1: remove the base, but to do this I need to know how to remove the black trim on the bottom,

or

2: Pour resin into the base to cover the crack. Is this safe to put frogs back in after??

Cheers!

im guessing that the tank is empty exept for the foam background .

could you not silicon a piece of glass/perspex on the base on the outside of the tank .

then put a layer of silicon on the inside and cover what you can with a peice of cut to shape perspex ?

so the broken glass is sandwiched between glass/perspex and silicon

Sadly not. The crack runs right up into the edge, so the water actually leaks into then out of the black rim.

Personally, it would annoy me too much - I remove the glass and fork out for a glazier Smile
