I have just noticed that with one of my young female boas, her cloaca seems a little open. The cloacal scale is not sitting flush against the vent as it used to. Could she have retained a scale during her last shed? There is no discharge, no tissue visible and the snake is acting normally. Any ideas?

This happened to one of our female savus. The vet said it was just an infection, where maybe a bit of substrate had irritated her vent. It was wiped clean with betadine and Flamazine cream was applied once a day for a couple of weeks. No further problems after that! _________________
