Hiya!

I was sold these pair of geckos as a breeding pair of G.luii....I bought them in good faith and without seeing them.. they don't look like luii to me, only 4 bands, and they don't really look alike either. ANyone have any light to shed on the matter? The male has a regrown tail from the looks of it...sigh.

G. lichtenfelderi hainanensis, yes they look like a pair to me. if you take close up shots of the head on both of them (side on and top down) i will know for sure. Bottom one looks like it could possibly be G. lichtenfelderi lichtenfelderi but probably not.

Cheers, will

Aww, that's a shame! Sad They are still two beautiful geckos either way though!

I'd say they are either hainanensis or lichtenfelderi.

They are apparently two seperate species now, as opposed to subspecies - though I suppose it depends on whose taxonomy you listen to!

I am actually quite upset, I was looking into getting acouple more females but now that I know they aren't luii, its kinda scuppered my plans. I guess its my fault for believing that they were what she said they were without seeing a pic. All I have to hope for now is they are infact a pair. I don't want to be making hybrids Sad I don't really know much about these guys either! I guess they are kept the same way...but its P***ed me off something rotten.
