i think iam going to bite the bullet and build my own viv .
now i want to make it as big and natural as i can and i realise i will have to waterproof it if making it from wood
but my question is how do you work out how big a viv should be for the amount of occupants .
i have 13 babies and im going to keep all the females together so hopefully 5 or 6 plus a male come this time next year when there at breeding age
so question is how do you work out the space needed per adult crestie and if big enough would there be space for two males ? if enough females and space ? _________________ Eyeless frogs welcome...

The amount of space needed would depend on how you decorate the viv. If there is a lot of cover for the animals then the space requirements will be slightly less than in a sparsely decorated viv.
Well i feel comfortable keeping 1.3 in a 18x18x24 exo terra so if i was to keep an extra 3 females id go for something like a 30x18x30. Thats just my opinion though. But more room is nearly always a good thing, however i personally wouldnt go above about 48" wide as above that it might become more difficult for them to find the small pots of food in the viv _________________

If I was to keep 1.6 or 2.6 adults together I would go for a 3ftx3ftx2ft wide would be a good size. |
