Happy New Year Everyone

I have my 1st clutch of eggs (2Cool in an incubator they have been in 14 days and i have a couple of questions.

1 If and When any hatch how many should i keep in a viv together say in a 3ft viv. Dont want them nipping tails and toes.

2 What would be the best substrate to keep them on.

I am ok for feeding them as i have spoken to my supplier of live foods and he says i can order the pin heads as and when. They have a delivery twice a week.

Any help would be appreciated

Regards
Sheila

Happy new year to you too Sheila Very Happy i'd go a little larger than pinheads or it will cost you a fortune, use size 2 or 3 and mini mealworms too. Very Happy

Pin head crix are far too small, size 2 or 3 as said earlier.
Feed twice a day as much as they will eat.
You can keep the whole clutch in the 3 foot to start with, you may have to split them in two later, biggest together.
No substrate is best with frequent spot cleaning.

Hi everyone

Thanks for your response, I am on day 21 now and all 28 eggs are doing well all are swelling nicely and all have been very carefully candled and all have veins showing. The female I am sure is going to lay again soon she is even bigger than last time she has been digging now for 4 days, you can see the eggs in her tummy and when she lays flat you can see them in her back!!

I have set up 2 6ft vivs divided into 2 giving me 4 3ft x 18 vivs so hoping this will be sufficient if and when the little ones arrive.

Aiden I hope all goes well with your forth coming clutch, let us know how many she lays.

Many thanks to all
Sheila
